How We Rate
Each listing on Honest Take is scored from 0 to 5 by our editorial team based on direct evaluation — not visitor voting. We weigh quality and consistency of the core product or service, value for the price, service and communication, and reliability over repeat visits or interactions. Pros and cons reflect specific, concrete observations from that evaluation, not generic praise or complaint. Sponsored or featured placements are always disclosed and never influence the rating.
What Goes Into a Rating
We Consider
- Quality and consistency of the core product or service
- Value relative to price
- Service, communication, and responsiveness
- Reliability across repeat visits or interactions
We Do Not Do
- Average anonymous visitor votes into a score
- Publish reviews attributed to fictional "users"
- Let a sponsored or featured placement change a rating
- Rate a business we haven't actually evaluated
A "Sponsored" badge on a listing means that business paid for placement or visibility. It never changes the rating, the pros/cons, or the substance of the write-up — see our Terms of Use for the full disclosure policy.
